The LSC 2008 was a HUGE success with players coming from TX, LA, OK, AR, and CO. OJC would like to thank all of the players, coaches, volunteers, referees, and parents who attended the event and made it possible.
 
The LSC 2008 featured several 'new' elements. Two of the biggest were the $200 CASH prizes for the first place winners of contested senior divisions and the second being the new venue. Both were big hits with all of the attendees. The new venue allowed all four tatami playing areas to be placed end-to-end. Many comments were made about the venue being, 'better than Nationals!' The stadium seating allowed for everyone to see all four mats at the same.
 
Thank you to Toraki for providing four compression rashguard sets. The winners were: Ed Hayes, Craig Carter, Nathan Kearney, and Maxwell Nguyen. Thank you to www.thejudopodcast.com for sponsoring the 'Best Ippon Award' with an I-pod shuffle and a $15 gift card to I-tunes. Hasan Seaed of AR won that honor with two spectacular ippons.
